Enjoy stories, songs and a guest reading by Councillor Wilkinson, followed by a complimentary morning tea. Bring the family along for a fun-filled morning celebrating the joy of reading together. When men read, it’s a different story We're encouraging more dads, grandads, uncles, brothers and family friends to share the joy of reading with children. Research shows that for a child aged 24 months, 59% of mums read to their kids daily, while only 26% of dads do. Yet children who are regularly read to by their fathers develop stronger language skills and enjoy lasting benefits as they grow. This Father’s Day, pick up a book, share a story and create special memories together. Our programs are free for Gold Coast Library members. If you are not a member, you can sign up for free.
